Jesus. The rainbow after the storm. The promise that evil will not prevail. He ushered in the new Covenant, purchased by His blood and sacrifice on the cross. This is a Covenant which cannot be shaken. We can through faith in Him enter into Covenant with Him, and when circumstances around us are shaken, this Covenant is as watertight as the ark which no rising flood could sink.
The Covenant he has secured through His blood is enough! Believing means agreeing with Him and His Word –“It is finished!” The battle has been won. Jesus has given you His Holy Spirit and the spiritual weapons you need to embrace this victory of the cross in your own life (See Ephesians 6).
Do you know today who you are as a believer in Jesus? Do you know that you have covenantal rights which He sacrificed Himself on the cross to give you?
You might be trying to live on your terms, in your strength, getting worn out in your efforts just to be you and live out loud – but Jesus has paid His blood so that you can step into His promises for you and take back what is rightfully yours from the kingdom of darkness.
The way to the Promised Land is paved by the Blood of the Lamb. As it says in Revelation 12, they overcame the dragon by the Blood of the Lamb and the power of their testimony.
In the book of Exodus, in the series of encounters between Moses and Aaron and the Pharaoh of Egypt, Pharaoh’s magicians tried to replicate the signs and wonders of the Almighty God but God exposed the deception and foolishness of Egypt’s idols. He left the piece de resistance of His display of glory for the final act of this showdown – the blood.
The magicians and sorcerers, so used to manipulating the spiritual realm to produce false signs and wonders, could not replicate this Divine sign. When the angel of death swept over Egypt, the magicians of death found their ‘power’ lacking. Death came to the Egyptians, but life was protected for the children of the Most High God. The blood of the sacrificed lamb on the lintels of their homes, a precursor to the Blood of the Lamb later shed by Jesus of Nazareth, covered the people of the Lord. Life was theirs by covenant and this wasn’t just ‘whatever’ life – this was abundant life, the kind Jesus spoke of when He said in John 10:10: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
You don’t have to agree with every negative, defeating thought in your mind, or even with how things appear to be. You are who His word says you are, and what His word says is yours as his child, is yours.
Jesus has given you the authority to speak His Word and affect change in your family, community, even nation. He has given you the privilege of His Holy Spirit, to walk alongside, fellowship with, and trust for guidance, comfort and help in your hour of need.
It doesn’t matter what scary picture the devil holds up. You don’t have to agree. Jesus said through covenant with Him, we have been given life and life in abundance.
From Isaiah 54:10: “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.”
The floods might rise, the storms might threaten, but no power of hell can sink the Covenant that the Lord has with His people. He Himself said, “I, Lord, make the following promise: ‘I have made a covenant with the day and with the night that they will always come at their proper times. Only if you people could break that covenant.” (Jer 33:20).
Will you be among those who pointed fingers at the ark and refused to believe – as the heathen who trusted in their own power and idols when Noah built the ark? Then the rain started to fall and the floods started to rise – and this ‘foolish’ ark started to appear quite ingenious. It is written, the gospel is foolishness to those who are perishing but to those who are being saved (those whom God is pulling out of a pit or setting free), it is the power of God.
As a nation, we can enter this secure ark through faith in Jesus, and as covenental people start to take back our land, our blessings, our peace, our joy, our identity… basically, our stuff.
If I want to live, I must agree with the source of life. If I want abundant life – life out loud – I must stand in agreement with the Author of life and the Creator of me – the One who knows and understands me and who paved a way for me into the promise.
When I began this blog, it was with me in mind. How was I going to live out loud for Jesus, how could I get it right? The Holy Spirit has progressively opened up my understanding that the answer is not so much in me ‘finding me’ but in The Answer, who is Him. ‘Life out loud’ is accessible to me because I am His, by faith in Him and His sacrifice for me on the cross. This faith brings me into covenant with Him.
Now I must stand, and shake off my chains – those self-limiting, defeating thoughts; those behaviours that hinder, any agreements I have made with the kingdom of darkness through doubt and negative confession – and embrace life. Abundant life.
It doesn’t cost you anything to be His. He paid for you. Salvation is free for ‘whosoever’ believes.
