When the wind blows, that’s your cue to spread your wings

wings
I think of them as Holy Spirit ‘winks’ or nudges and maybe other Christians can relate but there are times when you just know that you know that you know that the Holy Spirit is pressing you to take an action – to speak, to step out in faith and obedience… He speaks in these gentle ‘winks’. But then He also speaks through circumstances.

Lately, as the wind has been blowing through so many lives, I believe it’s time to spread our wings as His people, and heed to His clarion call to step up.
We know that He is above all circumstances and so if He has allowed the wind to blow, it is for a purpose. We know that as a Sovereign God, by the time the wind starts blowing, He has already equipped us with everything we need for that moment.
Maybe you didn’t know you had wings as His child but when the wind blows, you will realise it is true. Maybe, it is for this hour you have come.

I tell you, you aren’t going to be the only one who is surprised you have wings when the wind blows. There are others – witnesses he has gathered in your circle of influence- who need to know the gospel truth who will see you soar with the wind and realise the truth of the Word of God. He will reveal the work He has done in you over the years… that secret preparation no-one saw, and as a woman gives birth to an infant who remains veiled in her belly until the point of birth, they will hear the cry of your testimony and He will be glorified.
So be expectant and don’t be afraid of circumstances. It’s for this reason you have been born – to soar as an eagle for His glory.
Everything against you in the preparation season was to strengthen you. You will learn to see your enemies and adverse circumstances differently, as it is through these that He has built within you a strength and purpose which He will now reveal.

My friend gave me this advice when gripped with tiredness and fear for the future: “Just listen to him and obey his voice. We were made to be water-walkers.”
Are you a water-walker? Well, I don’t feel like one but I’ve heard it’s not how I feel. It’s who the Word says I am.

Do you believe He is who He says He is?

Do you believe you are who He says you are?

Will you believe Him and everything He ever told you, through His Spirit and Word?

Will you believe the Word which says we don’t battle against flesh and blood but against the unseen forces in the spiritual realm?

Will you pick up the sword of His Word and face Goliath head-on, trusting He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world?

The war is here but you are on the winning side. Rise victorious and spread your wings. Face the wind and don’t be afraid.

This is for His glory. It’s for this hour we have come.

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain. Worthy is the King who conquered the grave.” (This is Amazing Grace, Phil Whickham)

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint…” (Isaiah 40:31)
